June 8-12, 2015
Must commit to entire session
The Angeles National Forest needs your help as we conduct yet another important archaeological survey project in the beautiful San Gabriel Mountains! The region is known to have an extensive prehistoric and historic past, ranging from Native American resource processing camps and habitation sites, to cabin remains, wagon roads, and mining sites associated with California's earliest historic settlers. Passport in Time volunteers and Forest staff will conduct archaeological surveys to locate, photograph, map and document archaeological sites within the Angeles National Forest. The fieldwork will be conducted in an area with no facilities, but will surely provide a unique outdoor experience to those interested in the rich cultural history of the San Gabriel Mountains.
