Join us this spring on the beautiful and rugged Kaibab National Forest as we “scan the pages of history!” Over the years, the Forest has collected a very large array of photos and slides containing significant historic and environmental information. However, the assemblage has not been systematically organized or properly catalogued. As such, our activities for the project will include doing those very things: organizing, cataloging, and scanning photos, slides, and other historic treasures. As a special treat for our volunteers, we also intend to spend a day touring some of the unique cultural sites on the Kaibab. Further, our ‘base of operations’ it is considered the “Gateway to the Grand Canyon.” More information can be found by visiting the FS Kaibab website (https://www.fs.usda.gov/kaibab). So, join us as we get our photos and other records in order, stay for the sights and other wonders the area has to offer!
