Join us this spring for an archival adventure on the Mt. Hood National Forest! The Heritage Archives of the Mt. Hood NF are filled with a treasure trove of information, containing documetns, maps, images, and artifacts related to more than 140 years of recreation and land management on the mountain, and more than 10,000 years of human land use! Our goal is to digitally record as much of this material as possible, and ultimately make the information easily searchable and accessible to researchers, specialists and, where appropriate, the public. We will process our materials through four stations: documentation and image organization and scanning, mapping and aerial image georeferencing, artifact digitization, and packaging - volunteers will get an opportunity to work in each station. This will be a great project and, as a result of our efforts, the Archive will be better organized and preserved. There are also myriad things to do here in your leisure time: shopping, local produce and eateries, amazing vistas, and more - we hope to see you this spring on the Mt. Hood!
