HistoriCorps, a Colorado-based, public-private entity specializing in historic restoration, has worked with the U.S. Forest Service and Passport in Time to conduct a variety of projects that have helped stabilize and renew deteriorating structures on Forest Service land. To date restoration and stabilization projects have taken place in Colorado, Wisconsin, Michigan, Missouri, and California. Volunteers have had the opportunity to pick up new skills (or hone existing ones) as they are taught all that is necessary to get the job done. HistoriCorps provides the tools, safety equipment, and training necessary to complete the tasks, as well as three square meals a day and water for crew.
